Every time we go to Montolieu, Neil is inspired to come up with a few words, and Jane can't resist getting her art materials out. Her art is dotted around throughout the house. Her range of Montolieu-related cards based on her original collages can be found in the local delicatessen, L'Abeille Noire (The Black Bee).

'CHAPTERS'. Here, Róisín welcomes you to their fabulous restaurant just down 'our' road, where husband Seb conjures up his magic from the kitchen. 

THE FOUNTAIN OUTSIDE CASQUETTE ET CHAPEAU. The main square, where you can sit in the sun and watch village life take its course.

A WALK UP TO THE CHURCH. The main street as you go through the centre of the village, book shops everywhere.

MONTOLIEU FROM THE BRIDGE. Literally seconds from the front door of The Writer's Retreat, the views are spectacular, no matter what the weather. 

THE PINK SHUTTERED HOUSE. On the Rue St Denis, just a couple of minutes walk away, heading towards the remnants of the ancient village wall.

THE WHITE HOUSE. This dominant property overlooks the village from afar, and you'll see it in the distance on your morning walk.
